A wind advisory is set to go into effect Wednesday evening, as gusty winds are expected in the Santa Clarita weather forecast.
Starting Wednesday at 10 p.m. and lasting until 2 p.m. Thursday, a wind advisory is expected to be put in place due to gusty Santa Ana winds, said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“We are expecting winds to increase later tonight, peaking by tomorrow morning,” Kittell said.
Winds are expected to be out of the northeast, with gusts between 35 to 40 mph, according to Kittell.
Despite the winds being the dry Santa Ana winds, humidity levels are expected to remain relatively high, lessening the danger for potential brush fires.
By Thursday afternoon, winds are expected to diminish through mid-Saturday, before a stronger dry Santa Ana wind event is expected Saturday night which could result in a red flag warning, Kittell said.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-60s through Saturday, and then be in the 70s Sunday through Tuesday, according to Kittell.
