“Words are tough to come by,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts via dodgers.com. “I don’t know if they give out Gold Gloves in May, but it’s hard to see it play out any other way.”

A pair of outfield assists and another bomb for Cody Bellinger on Memorial Day, and the 23-year-old was serenaded by “M-V-P” chants during the Dodgers 9-5 victory over the Mets. Los Angeles is 10-2 since May 12th, thanks in large part to the efforts of Bellinger.

Bellinger is first in the National League in batting average, a full 43 points better then the next best (.383), and first in the  National League in outfield assists (7) after throwing out a Met baserunner at home and third base. His case for most valuable player to this point in the season is almost too easy to make.

The Dodgers are 36-18 and Clayton Kershaw is 5-0 after allowing three runs through six innings yesterday. All is right in late May at Chavez Ravine.

Rich Hill takes the mound this evening with first pitch at 7:07. Listen live on your Dodgers station for the Santa Clarita Valley, KHTS FM 98.1.
