Dodgers Cruise Past Reds Following Freeman’s All-Star-Caliber Performance

The Los Angeles Dodgers put eight runs past the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday after Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers’ first baseman, brought five runs home leading to an 8-2 victory.

Los Angeles’ record going into the game was 40-25 and Cincinnati’s was 23-43, with both teams having similar records in the month of June.

The boys in blue would quickly get a run up on the board in the first inning when Will Smith, the L.A. catcher, hit a home run to left field, this was his ninth homer of the year.

The Reds wouldn’t stay silent for long as Jonathan India, Cincinnati’s second baseman, would hit one out of the park off Dodgers Cy Young contender, Tony Gonsolin.

It would be all Dodgers after the second inning as they would put up two runs in the third and one in the fourth.

Los Angeles would crack the game right open in the eighth inning following a Freeman triple on a sharp fly ball to left field to rally the score up to 7-2.

The Blue Crew have now taken five out of five games from the season series with the Reds and now hold a 31-3 record when scoring five or more runs in a game.

The Dodgers next game is June 22 at 3:40 P.M. PST against the Reds.
