“It’s unfortunate because she’s such a talented artist,” said Carl Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM-1220. “Hopefully, she’ll get her priorities in order but we feel we cannot support her by playing her music given her current views and current behavior.”

In a video released by TMZ, Grande, 22, is seen with her “friend” at Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore.

Grande’s friend appears to be the first to lick an unpurchased doughnut on a tray in the shop, according to the video. Grande then touches her tongue to two unpurchased doughnuts on trays, then jumping up and down and laughing.

A Wolfee Donuts employee then brings a tray of doughnuts to the doughnut case where Grande and her boyfriend are standing, according to the video. Grande then says, “What the f*** is that? I hate Americans. I hate America.”

The Lake Elsinore Police Department is currently working with the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health to determine whether the potentially contaminated doughnuts were subsequently sold to other customers, according to a statement released by authorities which was acquired by CNN.

In a tweet on July 8, Grande said, “I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my country. What I said in a private moment with my friend (Ryann), who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words.”

Grande then sent a video to AP Thursday further apologizing.

“I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling. Here I am apologizing again. I’ve never actually be prouder to be an American. Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly that you had no idea was taken is such a rude awakening. That it’s like you don’t know what to do. I was so disgusted with myself.”

Fans have since used #WeForgiveYouAriana on social media.

“What’s upsetting is her lack of taking accountability for her actions and making too many excuses,” said KHTS AM-1220 co-owner Jeri Seratti-Goldman. “We would love to hear from Ariana.”

  1. Well done! Even if for publicity, still nice to see some action vs the typical acceptance of U.S.-bashing.

  2. I’m glad KHTS took this action. She needs to be held accountable for her actions. Didn’t mean it? Bull! She meant it. Like usual, some PR guy tells her to say something to save record sales. You see that all the time these days! Actually, there needs to be legal action against her! Some of these people really need a spanking! Whaduya think would happen if it was me or you that did that and got caught? Come on!!!

  3. Great job Carl. You are a great American! Hope more stations do the same. Ariana Grande’s doughnut licking video won’t lead to criminal charges from what I read. She is an American, born in Florida. She needs to spend some time in another country for a while to get an appreciation for the country that supports her life style.

  4. I think it’s great that the Goldmans have taken a stand for common sense and normal behavior and not support the stupidity of someone just because they can sing or entertain. Maybe they can extend that to some of the stupidity that some of our politicians dish out.

  5. There are moments that many Americans are not always proud to be Americans based on what happens in politics, racial discrimination, war, human and civil rights, etc. Why she said it? Who knows and honestly I don’t care as there are many people who say more hateful things directly to hurt other people and a general statement that doesn’t even fit the situation just sounds like someone saying something stupid. Who wants to throw the first stone?

No one should shop in a store that sells food left out in the open,- period! Flies, children’s hands, or even offering the opportunity for anyone to touch food they are not going to buy is definitely not a place that gets an A or B rating for cleanliness. Why would anyone leave food out on top of the counters?
That would be like people putting their hands under the glass shield to touch things in the salad bars. Ugh!

  6. So sick and tired of these smart ass youngsters taking everything for granted. I don’t know who this stupid ass bitch is but she is hardly worth print time. Hopefully her so called career will tank and she will get a real job that will show her some humility in what it fells like to WORK for a living. Spoiled BRAT.

  7. Sooner or later someone is going to do something extremely vile to Grande’s food right before she eats it. She has insulted so many people how could it not happen. The best part is that she’ll never know when it’s coming.

Maybe that lumpy salad dressing wasn’t dressing at all. Maybe her veggie burger had a footprint in it. Maybe those veggie Hor d’oeuvres in her dressing room came from the dumpster out back.

Let’s all remind her of that through the social media engines she loves so dearly. Paranoia is a that special kind of justice that just keeps on giving.

    Bon Appetite Ariana

  8. Thank you KHTS for taking this stand!

  9. let’s hope this goes “viral”, or “global” or whatever it is these days to “FIX” stupid…Unfortunately, I don’t hold out hope

  10. This crap has to stop. I’m no fan of Ms Grande, but we have to stop appointing ourselves as censors. Provide editorial criticism, that’s great and it fits our tradition of free speech. We need discussion, not censorship. If I don’t want to listen, I’ll turn it off. If enough people turn it off and you make a business decision to air other music, great, but leave censorship elsewhere.

  11. “said KHTS AM-1220 co-owner Jeri Seratti-Goldman. “We would love to hear from Ariana.”

After all the attention and $$$ that shop is getting from this, I just BET this radio station would LOVE to hear from her, but she doesn’t owe them anything. She did nothing to them! And up until reading this article I never paid enough attention to AM channels to know who any of them are. And after leaving this page, this radio station will be forgotten again, their thirsty a**es!

  12. Yes thank you KHTS Carl and Jeri for standing up to this “punk”. Who would want to listen to junk like this?

  13. Good for you! I hope every other station follows suit. Ariana Grande is trashy and irresponsible. I hope she gets what she deserves, which is not fame and fortune. How pathetic, and what a waste.

  14. While I agree what she did was wrong and I completely disagree with her comments about her feelings toward our country and Americans, we do have something called the 1st Amendment. Celebrity or social status aside, in many other countries that could have landed her in jail, but that is one of the great things of our country is that we have the right to express ourselves freely and without fear. Yet here in the court of public opinion we condemn her for her use of this right. I do find many of these comments rather self-serving, have none of you ever said or done anything, which looking back you wish you had not? I know I have, and, who knows how many of these were caught on some camera. The only reason that neither you or I, doing whatever, did not become “news” is that we are not “celebrities.” Perhaps we should ask why we allow such as TMZ to put anyone under such a microscope. Look around, cameras most every where and who knows, perhaps on some slow news day maybe one of us will say or do one of those things we wish we had not and it will end up being the next big thing to talk about.

  15. At 21, Miss Ariana should have had more sense that to make that remark. So many of the young artists are so self centered, that they feel no need to observe conversations that do not have the “F” word laced throughout. Then, when caught, they expect everyone to grovel at their feet and forget about it. This is America, and, Miss Ariana, if you were in the middle east, you would be wearing a burka, and groveling at the feet of your husband/boyfriend. Perhaps you should go to Iran and perform a show for that country. How do you think that would end?

  16. Well done, KHTS! Thanks for standing up for America and for decency! We applaud your actions!
