The Feb. 26 episode was hosted by News Director Perry Smith and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Bureau Deputy Josh Dubin. Dubin and Smith brought on LASD Lt. Andy Rosso from Contract Law Enforcement.

Below is a transcription of part one of the Feb. 26 episode of “Neighborhood Watch” sponsored by All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita:

Perry Smith: Welcome back Santa Clarita Valley. We’re here on your ‘Neighborhood Watch’ (sponsored by All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita) twice a month talking about public safety community outreach with Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit in the house. How are we doing Deputy Dubin?

Josh Dubin: I had to bring you coffee this morning. Neighborhood Watch Podcast

Perry Smith: You know what, I thoroughly appreciated that coffee. That was a gentleman’s gesture. For our partnership on our show, you bring me coffee and I don’t bring much to the table.

Josh Dubin: No, I bring you coffee and I carry the show. My goodness.

Perry Smith: You carry the show? Wow.

Josh Dubin: Hi Kyle.

Perry Smith: I’m going to put my humility in the drawer for the next hour.

Josh Dubin: I told you, I was going to start the show with a bang.

Perry Smith: Have you seen 50 Shades yet?

Josh Dubin: No, have you?

Perry Smith: No.

Josh Dubin: Did you take your girlfriend for Valentine’s Day?

Perry Smith: No, she is not about that.

Josh Dubin: Let me ask you a question, Perry, what did you do for your girlfriend on Valentine’s Day?

Perry Smith: We had a little stay-cation. We actually went to Ojai the weekend before. Both of us had to work at various times the last weekend for we kind of stayed in town and hung out, appreciated each other.

Josh Dubin: So, you went to Ojai and had a little dinner?

Perry Smith: We did.

Josh Dubin: Was there any flowers exchanged?

Perry Smith: There was a flower exchange I did bring the flowers to work on Friday.

Josh Dubin: Wow.

Perry Smith: Money move, right?

Josh Dubin: And let’s not forget to tell our listeners that you do have a giant eight-and-a-half-by-11 picture of her on your desk.

Perry Smith: I do. I do, courtesy of Kirsten Quinn. Of course.

Josh Dubin: And if she’s listening, I really think we should step it up to the 30-by-30 size.

Perry Smith: No, I told her that’s going to be my proportionate response. Maybe of the ‘Neighborhood Watch.’  Maybe we should stand like back brothers style for a poster.

Josh Dubin: That’d be good.

Perry Smith: Maybe just not even a gift, maybe we can just market that for the show.

Josh Dubin: And maybe have Kyle’s little head in the background. Or something like that.

Perry Smith: Kyle’s the silent partner. We’re all about community outreach with this show and you’ve been doing a little community outreach earlier this week. Rio Norte with some partners and you’ve been talking with Hart District parents since you’ve been here.
