Two volunteers on patrol with the Sheriff’s Station noticed a woman who appeared to be leaning against the railing over the bridge on Sierra Highway, near Flying Tiger Way, around 7:20 p.m., said Sheriff’s Station Deputy Josh Dubin of the Crime Prevention Unit.
The volunteers immediately called for assistance, and contacted the 18-year-old woman who said she was contemplating suicide.
As the volunteers talked with the woman, a deputy approached her and quickly grabbed her so she couldn’t jump off the bridge, Dubin said.
The woman was transferred to a local hospital for a medical evaluation for her own safety, officials said.
