The incident occurred near 16th Street and Orchard Village Road when someone reportedly saw two Hispanic men waving a firearm, according to Shirley Miller with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Newhall Elementary, Placerita Jr. High and Hart High School were placed on lockdown as a precaution as deputies searched the area.

“There is no immediate threat on campus, but we are locking down our perimeter and keeping staff and students in their current classes until we receive further information from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station,” said Collyn Nielson, principal of Hart High.

The lockdowns were lifted at approximately 9:30 a.m.

No suspects were located, said Ballentine.
