Foster Dog Seeks A Permanent Home, Adoptable Through Santa Clarita Valley Animal Shelter

This sweet dog needs a permanent home after being a foster pet for months.

Orchid (#A5778591), nicknamed Orca, is a 3-year-old female Australian Kelpie and Black Lab mix who has been in a foster home for around 3 months.

Orchid is a fully house-trained and crate-trained pup, also easygoing in the car, and okay being left alone.

She is also a quiet dog who does not bark very often and likes being around other calm dogs like herself. Orchid is described as having medium energy, meaning that she needs outlets for walks and other energetic activities.

Orchid loves salmon, belly rubs, and shredding packing paper and is ready for a loving family to take her into their home.

Due to Orchid’s prey drive, they recommend a home without small animals, cats, or small dogs.

Orchid is just one of the many animals at the shelter that urgently need a home. She is available for adoption at the Santa Clarita Valley Animal Care Center, located at 31044 N. Charlie Canyon Road.

The center is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at 661-257-3191 or [email protected]
