Nola Aronson’s Advanced Audiology is hosting a special open house event this month for the first “true” artificial intelligence, or AI, hearing aid after its September release.

Set to take place Oct. 30-31 by appointment only, the event is expected to center around the latest advancements in hearing aid technology, with a special focus on the AI hearing aid created by the only all American-made hearing aid manufacturer, Starkey.

“It’s so amazing,” Aronson said in an earlier interview. “It not only tracks your steps, your heart rate — you will not have to use a Fitbit anymore — it measures your brain activity so you see how you’re doing in your listening environments and how your brain is functioning.”

The AI hearing aid can even translate languages in the user’s ear, and has the capability to be programmed and adjusted from an audiologist’s computer without the need to come into the office.

In addition to these innovative features, the AI hearing aid offers a quality of sound that is unparalleled compared to standard hearing aids, according to Aronson.

“I put a pair on because I wanted to hear the translation of the languages,” she said. “It was so clear and crisp… I can’t even hear the cars in the background because it’s not paying attention to all the noise. It doesn’t have a lot of the circuit noise and the distortion, it has clarity.”

“We’re giving free trials on this, so if you already wear hearing aids and you would like to try something new, this is something fun to try,” Aronson said.
