“There are 34 million Americans that have some degree of hearing loss and it takes the average person seven years to do anything about their hearing,” explained Aronson. “It seems so silly to me.”
Aronson explains that poor hearing can lead to poor communication. Hearing loss and confusion often leads people to isolate themselves, according to her experience.

“Why are we arguing with each other?” Aronson says. “(Because) you can’t hear me or you’re not understanding what I’m saying to you and I have to repeat myself over and over again.”
Aronson also mentions the psychological and physiological effect of hearing issues.
“Now they’ve linked the brain with hearing,” she says. “The brain is not being stimulated because you’re missing many sounds, and there’s just so many health problems now that come along with not being able to hear.”
But many might say they aren’t doing anything to fix their hearing loss because of financial reasons.
“We can afford to do what we really want to do,” said Aronson. “There are all types of hearing price ranges, and it all depends on what your needs are.”
Advanced Audiology in Santa Clarita hopes to administer over 1,500 free hearing tests for seniors this year alone.
“It’s very exciting times in the hearing aid world,” said Aronson.
She concluded that she only wants patients to be happy and find the right thing for their environments.
“It’s doesn’t cost you anything to come in, then you get educated,” she said. “That’s what we love to do, we love to educate you about your hearing and what’s happening.”
