TMU Baseball
The Mustangs need a big final week of the regular season to set up for the GSAC Tournament and postseason play. Their playoff aspirations took a bit of a hit on Saturday, dropping the double-header at Vanguard 9-2 and 8-3 losses.
TMU is 26-20 overall and 14-13 in the GSAC.
COC Athletics
Canyons Baseball continues to crush the ball in conference play, sweeping Citrus over the weekend and outscoring them 31-7 in three games. Which effectively sets up this week’s season-ending series against Glendale for the Western State Conference title. Series opens Tuesday in Glendale.
Canyons Softball split its final double-header of the season at Palomar on Saturday, and goes into its season finale at Mt. San Antonio with a 28-10-1 record. After Mt. SAC, the CCCAA postseason begins.
Santa Clarita Storm
Carlos Torres and John Lopez each scored in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Sporting San Fernando, the first tie of the season for the Storm.
Santa Clarita is 2-4-1 this season.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are middling so far in April. They avoided the sweep in Arizona by beating the D-Backs 6-2 on Sunday, to get to 9-10 on the season.
As we all know, however, the baseball season is as long and grueling as professional sports seasons can be.
