Sheriff’s deputies arrested four suspects who allegedly terrorized two teen-aged boys over the course of six days, culminating in the drive-by shooting of one’s occupied home early Wednesday…
Shaun Tobin, 25, of Saugus; Christopher Mills, 18, of Canyon Country; and two 17-year-old boys from Arleta and Canyon Country allegedly took part in planning and executing the crimes, which included criminal threats, assault charges and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
The four reportedly drove by one boy’s family home and Mills reportedly sprayed about 30 rounds into the house with a .223-caliber assault rifle at about 1:40 a.m. Nobody was injured by the hail of bullets.
“The bullets went through several walls in the house,” Sgt. Howard Fairchild said. “The father stood up (after the shooting stopped), looked straight at a wall and there was a bullet hole at right about eye-level. Had he been standing, he probably would have been shot in the head.”
Sheriff’s deputies learned that the two boys had stayed at Tobin’s house about 10 days ago. The next day, Tobin discovered that some of his property was missing and blamed them.
