“That’s cool,” was uttered over and over again by local elementary school students as they listened to a presentation by two Jet Propulsion Laboratories team members on NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover mission, which has been searching for signs of past life on the Red Planet since January.
“How long did it take to build the rover? Why go to Mars? How do you get the pictures back from Mars? Does the rover come back to Earth?”
These were just a few of the scores of questions asked of the two JPL engineers by students at Leona Cox Community School in Canyon Country during a half dozen one hour presentations…
