Santa Clarita’s own Canyon Theatre Guild has begun showings of Joe DiPietro’s “The Last Romance,” a heartwarming comedy centered around a senior aged widower.

Starting May 23 and running through June 29th, this play from 2011 tells the story of Ralph, a widower who “decides to take a different path on his daily walk—one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love.”

These new paths lead him on a journey to woo the “elegant, but distant” Carol, and learning through new experiences and attitudes that you can regain “a happiness that seemed all but lost.”

With Variety, the San Diego Union Tribune, and the Florida Weekly lauding this play, one review describing it as a “tender romantic comedy,” “The Last Romance” is sure to be a gem for audiences.

Tickets are $20 for Adults, $18 for Seniors, and $15 for Students, and the opening performance will feature a free wine and champagne reception for ticket holders one hour before curtain.
