These personal challenges not only shaped his compassionate outlook but also his career trajectory, steering him towards plastic surgery. 

“Improving a patient’s confidence can change how they interact with the world, and that’s what excites me every day,” says Dr. Lapaine.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and completing his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Toronto, Dr. Lapaine honed his expertise during an Aesthetic Society-endorsed fellowship right here in New York City.

His commitment to mastering his craft is evident in his decision to specialize in breast and body contouring, which he describes as the natural evolution of his practice focused on areas he is most passionate about.

Every step of his journey has been supported by mentors and notably, his wife, Sari, who has been his steadfast partner throughout his career. “Having a supportive partner who is also a surgeon has been invaluable. We’ve grown together, facing the challenges and joys of this profession side by side,” he shares.
