Understanding God’s Fierce Love When Life Throws The Fastest Curveballs At You

What’s going on in your life right now? Have you lost your job and have to pay the bills? Have you lost your relationship of 2 years? Are you currently going through a depression? Whatever it is, this article will help. I want you to remember that you are not alone. Many people are going though trials and you can either allow it to break you or make you stronger. I want you to allow God’s love to change your view of life right now. No matter how fast the curve ball is at the moment, you can and you will overcome. I want you to keep on saying this to yourself, “God loves me.”

You didn’t do anything wrong.

I must admit, sometimes it is hard to know and understand God’s love in the midst of hardship. You start to think to yourself, what did I do to be going through these issues? I must be sinning or doing something wrong. When everything is going well, then I start to think, I’m doing well. I’ve been so obedient and I’m so holy. This is a terrible way to think because this will leave you very disappointed. I want you to know that what you are going through is not dependent on you. Sometimes there can be consequences to our actions, but God is not punishing you. Rest in Him and knowing His character. God’s love towards you is not dependent on anything that you have done. God’s love for you is based on what He has done in Christ. He brought Christ to die for your sins. All of your past, present, and future sins, have been forgiven. The problem with us is that we always look to self. Stop that. What we should do and grow in doing is start looking to Christ and His work on the cross. When we look to self, we run into a plethora of issues, when we look to Christ, we find solution to all of our problems. “No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you.” —Franklin Graham

God loved you before you were born

When you start doubting God’s love in the heat of your trials, remember that He’s always loved you. In Ephesians 1:4, it says, “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love.” You were chosen since the beginning. He didn’t choose you and love you just to leave you.

God is not going to abandon you

In all of my trials, though I struggle, I always get to a point where I calm down and remember that God is with me. Not only is He living inside of me. He says that, “He will never leave nor forsake me.” That gives me so much comfort in knowing that no matter what God is always by my side. He is by my side encouraging and comforting me. He is whispering positive things in my ears as I start to engulf myself with pessimism. He is leading me and helping me. I love this quote from Charles Stanley and I encourage you to mediate on it. “Wherever you go, God is with you – watching over you, protecting you, and providing the truth you need for every situation. The question is, will you open your heart to His Word, apply it to your life, and allow God to change you so that He can use you in ways far greater than you can imagine?” Charles Stanley. Meditate on this powerful quote.

Don’t stop praying

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’ Billy Graham

The most foolish thing we can ever do is stop praying. It’s unfortunate that there are some people who do not pray at all as they experience hardship. Prayer changes our situation and God uses prayer to remind us of His love for us. He uses prayer to communicate with us and calm us down with we are thinking about a million things at once. Keep on seeking God and allow Him to reassure you of His love.
