After a collision, an injured person may have to deal with medical treatment, vehicle repairs, missed work, insurance adjusters, and other expenses. In more serious accidents, injuries may require long-term treatment or rehabilitation.

LA Injury Attorneys can help accident victims understand their rights and deal with the legal and insurance aspects of a claim.

What Should You Do After an Accident?

Knowing what to do immediately after an accident can help protect your health and potential personal injury claim.

First, seek medical attention for any injuries. Some injuries may not become apparent immediately, making a medical evaluation important even if you initially feel okay.

When possible, document the accident scene by taking photographs of vehicles, property damage, road conditions, and other relevant details. Obtain contact and insurance information from other parties involved and identify potential witnesses.

It is also important to be careful when communicating with insurance companies. Before providing a recorded statement or accepting a settlement, consider speaking with a personal injury attorney who can explain your options.
