The KHTS Washington D.C. Advocacy Trip is finalizing their plans for its visit to the nation’s capital in September, and seats are filling up fast for Santa Clarita residents.
The four-day trip scheduled from Sept. 18 to Sept. 21, 2022 (Sunday, September 18, 2022 is a travel day) is planned to contain a full schedule of meetings with official decision-makers.
Garcia & Staff Are Assisting
“My staff and I are excited to welcome KHTS Radio, Santa Clarita business owners, local leaders and Santa Clarita residents back to Capitol Hill,” said Congressman Mike Garcia when the trip was first announced. “After two years of the pandemic, I am thoroughly looking forward to sharing our nation’s beautiful Capitol and bringing industry leaders to discuss issues impacting our community.”
The education workforce, energy, transportation, mental health and the business climate are among the topics expected to be covered during the series of meetings.
Representatives from the Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce, College of the Canyons, the City of Santa Clarita, VIA and many other community leaders have announced their attendance.
Slots Are Quickly Filling Up
“We have a limited group of 50 participants,” said KHTS owner, Carl Goldman. “It’s a cross-section of the community.”
Along with many meetings, a special private dinner is planned with Congressman Garcia and a keynote speaker. Past speakers have included former Senators John McCain and Martha McSally.
The cost to participate is $1,490. The price includes 3-nights at the Capitol Hill Hyatt Regency Hotel, dinner at the exclusive Capitol Hill Club, an exclusive excursion and participation in all events. Travel is the responsibility of each participant, and spouses are an additional $390.00.
