The Walt Disney World Resort is a place where everyone can have fun and enjoy their time with family and friends. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, things changed quite a bit, and access to some of the attractions was restricted.
Disney’s famous Dining Plan was one of the victims, which impacted the overall experience of a vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney officials tried to make a comeback in June, last year, but nothing really happened.
Since the Dining Plan was a Disney hotel exclusive, it’s only natural to understand the fans’ frustration. Plus, rumors say that when the Dining Plan finally returns, the prices may be unrecognizable.
Still, there’s no need to despair! The area around the Walt Disney World Resort is peppered with restaurants and locations where you can grab a quick bite to eat or have a chat while waiting for the kids to get on a ride. True, you may not be able to pay with Disney credits, but you will still enjoy the atmosphere.

Downtown Disney
Whether you’re looking for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can find everything you want in some of the best Downtown Disney restaurants! The district is open between 8 am and 12 am and features a wide array of restaurants and food locations where you can enjoy a meal without the expensive price tag.
For instance, If you’re in the mood for a delicious pizza, you have Napolini Pizzeria, but you can also have a delicious burger from Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes. The area also has table service restaurants (for some fine dining experience), cafes, and lots of amazing sweets and ice creams!
Just remember to make a reservation ahead of time, since things can get pretty crowded during pique tourist season.
Kidani Village
If you like animals and stunning landscapes, Disney’s Kidani Village is the place to choose for accommodation. There you’ll also find Sanaa, where you can enjoy some exotic spices, delicious foods, and a bit of interaction with the animals.
Because the restaurant is in the Animal Kingdom Lodge area, you have a direct view of the savannah, and chances are some curious animals may come investigating. Also, the restaurant has some yummy options for vegetarians and vegans!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
If you want luxury, romance, and futuristic worlds (with some Victorian flavoring), Disney’s Grand Resort is a great option. Plus, you will have access to some fabulous dining experiences that the entire family will enjoy.
But if you’re looking for a wonderful location for brunch, look no further than the Grand Floridian Cafe! This is a bit of a hidden gem table service spot located on the Monorail loop (perfect for a few moments of rest and relaxation).
The location is quiet and the food menu is diverse enough so both kids and parents can find something they like. Still, the best way to enjoy the cafe is at a brunch with friends (brunch is their speciality). Overall, this is the perfect spot for when you want some quiet time from the magic of the Disney World.
In Conclusion
The pandemic had a huge impact on what we considered a normal life (and took for granted), however, things seem to be looking up as more businesses return to their regular activities. Disney seems to be on the same page with the rest of the world, but we will have to wait and see if they’ll come back with a significant price hike.
