Action Drug Rehab Hour – Olivia And Marquise’s Stories – January 30, 2023
On this episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, Cary Quashen welcomes in Robbie Robinson and Olivia and Marquise to share their stories.
The group begins by discussing the continuing drug crisis in the United States and Santa Clarita. Carrie references the psychosis that methamphetamines is causing in young adults and teens.
Carrie then introduces Olivia and Marquise. Olivia was on the show previously while Marquise is an alcoholic who is two weeks sober as an outpatient at Action Drug Rehab. Marquise got two DUI’s and was sentenced to the program but says it has been a blessing in disguise, as he has been able to learn from the run ins with the law and get on a path to recovery.
Olivia discusses how when she was 16 how she ran away from home and started living with a 27-year-old man where they often used crystal meth. Olivia says she immediately fell in love with the drug, leading to a long addiction to the drug. Olivia attempted rehab multiple times but ultimately relapsed multiple times.
“How many nights did my mom go to bed not knowing if I was alive or dead?” Olivia said. “It had gotten to the point where I was literally doing meth every second of the day, I physically could not put the pipe down.”
It wasn’t until her baby brother overdosed and died on what he believed was ecstasy but was in fact fentanyl that Olivia was able to begin her journey to sobriety with Action. Now, Olivia is 30 days sober and looking to achieve her life goals.
