Eye On The Valley – iLead Antelope Valley, Veteran’s Services Collaborative – November 8, 2024

On today’s show, your host Matt Watson welcomes Megan Hernandez in studio.  Megan is a Facilitator with iLead Antelope Valley.  They talk about the services offered with their home study hybrid learning program called Exploration. With in person workshops and zoom classes, the learners at iLeadAV have the opportunity to create their own personalized education to fit their personal needs. The program is open to grades TK-8 and also features educational funds which can be used for tutoring, extracurricular and lessons like music or sports.  Go to iLeadavexploration.org  for more information. SCVi and iLead schools have campuses in Castaic, Agua Dulce, Lancaster as well as the online learning program.  They are a cluster of free charter schools.

In the second half of the show, Matt welcomes Jeff Stabile and Dennis Sugasawara from Veteran’s Services Collaborative.  Together, they talk about the many services offered for veterans and their families.  Veterans can take advantage of the benefits that they are entitled to including medical treatment, employment placing, counseling and more.  On November 21st from 6pm-8pm they are hosting a fundraiser to raise money for their veteran’s holiday meals.  The event takes place at Salt Creek Grille and will feature wine and appetizers.  Tickets are $75.  Go to scv-vets.org   for more information.
