Welcome to the debut episode of Out Of Bounds with Matt Frieda! Out of Bounds is a new sports show to KHTS on Thursdays at 12 p.m. where host Matt Frieda discusses the latest news in the world of sports. Matt will be highlighting both on and off the field stories in addition to interviewing athletes, coaches, and other prominent figures both professionally and locally.

Matt opens the show by introducing the show before first discussing Brittany Griner being freed from a Russian Prison. Griner was sentenced in February after she was detained at a Russian airport with vape cartridges containing cannabis. Matt believes that while Griner deserves to be treated as an American despite her public criticism of the United States in the past, he can’t help but feel that she received preferential treatment in her case as compared to Robert Whalen, a US Marine veteran who is still imprisoned in Russia.

Matt goes on to discuss the Los Angeles Rams and their matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football, saying that tonight’s game is an audition for Baker Mayfield for the Rams next year should Matthew Stafford not be healthy or look to retire.

Matt then discusses the Lakers who have underachieved this season and need to find a way to get rid of Russell Westbrook in a trade if they want to save their season.

Finally, Matt discusses the Dodgers uncharacteristically quiet offseason thus far and what free agent signings or trades could be on the horizon to put the team back on the World Series path.
