Update from the CEO — April 29, 2020

On this episode of the Providence Holy Cross Health Hour with Tom Burton, PT, Tom starts the show by talking about the latest information on how to prevent the spread of Covid-19. There is a constant, sometimes overwhelming stream of news constantly being poured out by the media and Tom does a great job of simplifying the latest information into the easy-to-do tasks that everyone can complete to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Tom also talks about how various places around the country and world are beginning to open up, and how important it is to do this slowly. Tom stresses that if we are given an inch, it is extremely important to take only that inch we are given. More and more will reopen and get right back to normal faster if we take the reopening process slowly.

Later in the show, Dr. Bernie Klein, CEO of Providence Holy Cross calls in to the show. Dr. Klein calls in to the show to talk about the latest happenings in the Providence Holy Cross health systems around Santa Clarita. Due to the surge of Covid-19 patients, other services Providence Holy Cross usually offers were impacted, and they found that people experiencing other serious health issues were not reporting them due to fear of Covid-19 complications. Dr. Klein explains how Holy Cross remains open to everyone who has a medical need, no matter what. Providence Holy Cross screens all of their patients for any symptoms of Covid-19 and makes a point to take patients displaying those symptoms into separate areas of their medical centers to prevent the spread of the virus. Dr. Klein and Tom Burton talk about how Providence Holy Cross remains safe, open, and prepared for all of their usual services, and encourage people to continue to see their doctors if it is something serious. Listen to Dr. Klein’s interview in the second half of the podcast.

Listen in as Tom Burton talks to Dr. Bernie Klein about the latest update on what Providence Holy Cross is doing to continue to provide safe, sterile environments their patients can feel comfortable in.
