On this episode of the Providence Holy Cross Health Hour with Tom Burton, Dr. Tony Avnaim joins the show to talk about the changes in urgent care. Dr. Avnaim begins by talking about himself and what inspired him to work in medicine, and what led him to medical school. As an osteopathic practitioner , Dr. Avnaim takes a different approach to taking care of a person and their body. Dr. Avnaim explains his role in Providence Holy Cross and the difference he makes in the urgent care services Providence Holy Cross has to offer. Urgent care has taken on a transitional role where many more people have a need to use urgent care services as their primary health services which results in a much wider range of ailments to treat. Providence Holy Cross is working hard to to make sure their urgent care services can keep up with the demand, and Dr. Avnaim shares statistics on the types of ailments and emergencies that are being diagnosed.
