The National Weather Service has predicted snow on the Grapevine for Thursday morning, as well as thunderstorms throughout Santa Clarita.
Meteorologists with the National Weather Service (NWS) have predicted snow to fall on the Grapevine as low as 1,500 feet.
“We are looking at the snow levels dropping pretty low tomorrow,” said Lisa Phillips, a meteorologist with the NWS. “We’re expecting one to three inches of snow above 2,500 feet, and we could see a dusting of snow between 1,500 and 2,500 feet.”
Along with the predicted snow, there is a chance of thunderstorms throughout Santa Clarita after 10 a.m. Thursday, according to NWS officials.
“This particular storm is moving from Canada down to us, so it’s not getting modified by warmer ocean waters,” Phillips said.
Showers are also predicted for Santa Clarita over the next several days, with a 50 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain predicted throughout Santa Clarita Thursday.
Then from Friday until the following Tuesday, skies are predicted to be mostly clear, with low temperatures predicted in the mid-30’s and high temperatures predicted for the low 60’s.
The forecast comes two days after a freeze warning was issued for Santa Clarita, when temperatures fell between 29 and 32 degrees Tuesday morning.
