Today on Real Estate & Other Stuff, Phil and Taylor welcome in Joe Curtis from Pango Group and go on to discuss a variety of topics later in the show including the online real estate giants.

Joe is the Executive Vice President of Sales at Pango Group, a leading California-based settlement service. Joe has been featured as one of the “Top 100 People” in real estate magazine thanks to the unprecedented growth that his team commanded atPango Group. With 26 years in the real estate industry and 15 branches, Joe has grown the business to over 240 employees and joined the show to discuss wire fraud.

“In California, the escrow is different. In southern California, we have escrow officers, that make sure everybody does what they say they’re going to do in a real estate transaction,” Joe said. “In reality what happens is you have bad guys that redirect your money into their bank account. They do massive amounts of phishing to get access to our email account and then pose someone in the transaction, and they have gotten increasingly sophisticated over the years, swapping out wire instructions for a real estate transaction.”
