The Real Estate Fix With Rich Szerman
On today’s show, your host real estate expert Rich Szerman welcomes his client Teresa in studio. Rich and his team are helping Teresa battle Statebridge Company over a zombie mortgage. Zombie mortgages are those that homeowners are falsely lead to believe are paid off, only to have the lender return years later to collect on the loan, interest included. Teresa bought her home right before the collapse in 2008 and in January of this year received notification that she owed just under 200 thousand dollars to pay off the zombie loan. Teresa was dealing with personal finance issues in 2009 and without enough income, applied for a loan modification and filed for bankruptcy. Teresa was told that the second mortgage wasn’t sold off, after being misled. Rich is still currently working to help Teresa and as of recently, Statebridge denied allowing her modification.
Rich also does a brief round-up of market numbers, saying the interest rate has dropped slightly to 6.87% but the market still has excess inventory as homeowners with lower interest rates locked in are not moving.
