The Senior Hour –Long-Term Care and The Master’s University – April 5, 2023
On this week’s episode of the Senior Hour, Barbara Cochran and Dr. Thomas Polucki start off the show by discussing different quality of life topics for senior citizens, such as going out in the sun and the benefits of hiking poles instead of canes for mobility aid.
After the break, Barbara welcomes Jackie Perez, a long-term caregiver for BeStyle Home Care. Jackie goes further into detail about the services BeStyle offers as well as the importance of checking if your insurance covers long-term care. Barbara chimes in with an anecdote on how long-term care has assisted her in many ways.
In the second half of the show, listeners are introduced to Coach Zack Schroeder and current graduate student, Davis, to discuss the track and field program at The Master’s University. Coach Schroeder describes his experience with The Master’s University and how they strive to uphold the traditional values of sportsmanship. Davis talks about his current field of study, as well as how The Master’s University has shaped his value in athletics with faith. The two go over different community outreach that The Master’s University is doing, such as offering a special kids track camp and offering scholarships to student athletes.
