Preventative Measures — February 12, 2020

On this episode of The Senior Hour with Dr. Gene Dorio and Barbara Cochran, Bob Sharits, Program Director of The Way Out Recovery SCV, joins the show to talk about the ways parents and seniors can help prevent their younger relatives from getting addicted to opioids and other drugs. Bob is an incredible resource for drug prevention in our Santa Clarita Valley, and he provides a variety of methods, tactics, and strategies kids and young adults use to obtain prescription medications without you knowing. Bob, Dr. Dorio, Barbara talk about how dangerous and easily accessibly presciption medications can be in the average person’s house, and how to make those medications easier to watch over. They also discuss how to detect signs of a person who is using any kind of drug, and how to talk to them in a way that creates positive change.

Later in the show, Dr. Dorio and Barbara talk to Matt Browning about how cryotherapy helps senior citizens and anyone experiencing chronic pain. Besides athletes, senior citizens are the second largest client-base for Mend Cryotherapy, and they are fully equipped to handle almost any handicap or preexisting condition for senior citizens. Mend Cryotherapy provides a person in the room to accompany the senior citizens to assure there are no issues during the process, and to provide instant help if a problem were to arise. Matt is proud of how Mend Cryotherapy has helped people quit taking prescription medications, over-the-counter pain killers, and other dangerous medications that cause long-term damage on the body. If you are new to cryotherapy, go in and ask them about their process and Matt or another member of the staff at Mend Cryotherapy will show them how the entire process works.
