The Senior Hour – Prostate Treatments and Guardians SCV – July 12th, 2023

Guests: Dr. Albert Samadi, Tim Traurig

In the first half of today’s Senior Hour, hosts Barbara Cochran and Doctor Polucki welcome to the studio Dr. Albert Samadi, a urologist with Henry Mayo and Providence Holy Cross, to discuss his work with minimally invasive procedures for a multitude of prostate issues in patients. Dr. Samadi goes in detail about a multitude of different issues with prostates, such as urinary incontinence and prostate cancer. He also highlights a variety of different minimally invasive procedures, such as microwave therapy, Rezum, and Aquablation.

In the second half of the show, Barbara welcomes back Tim Traurig of Guardians SCV to discuss their different events, as well as their upcoming 9/11 Patriots Day celebration on September 9th. Tim discusses the Family, Food, and Fire Pit night, where first responders and all of their families gather together to socialize. He describes the sense of comradery and bonding that Guardians builds amongst its members. Being able to discuss highly stressful situations with like-minded individuals humanizes and connects all of the members that attend the meetings.

Finally, Barbara, Dr. Polucki, and Tim wrap up the show by discussing the 9/11 Patriot Day event and where listeners can obtain further information.
