Politics & The Pulpit – House Speaker Vote Continues And COVID Vaccines Affecting Athletes – January 4, 2023
On this episode of Politics & The Pulpit, our host Pastor Jerry Cook from Freedoms Way Baptist Church discusses the continuation of the House Speaker Vote and the Damar Hamlin injury that could be linked to the COVID 19 vaccine and boosters.
Pastor Cook opens the show by discussing the vote for the House Speaker which continues. Now 6 attempts later, there is still no decision much to Pastor Cook’s chagrin. He discusses Matt Gates and the other hold outs who refuse to vote for Kevin McCarthy. He wonders if it is personal or what perhaps the hold up is and bitterness between the house and potential future speaker.
Later, Pastor Cook discusses the Damar Hamlin story. Hamlin, a player for the Buffalo Bills, suddenly collapsed after completing a tackle in Monday night’s game between Buffalo and Cincinnati. While there is no conclusive evidence for what may have caused the Hamlin injury, Pastor Cook discusses the studies that have shown that the number of cardiac arrest and heart related issues to pro athletes has grown tremendously since the COVID 19 vaccine was released.
“This (the vaccine) did not have a 2 year run, or an 8 year run for that matter,” Pastor Cook said. “They were produced in a mass scale and then released in weeks. Look at the data of those who died suddenly of those who received the boosters and the vaccinations.”
