As the holiday season approaches, there may be less time to spend in the kitchen. That’s why this goulash recipe is perfect for enjoying a home-cooked meal without spending hours in the kitchen.
In partnership with Just A Pinch, KHTS Radio is sharing this flavorful goulash.
Ingredients
For this recipe you’ll need:
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 1 can of condensed tomato soup
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes with garlic, undrained
- 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp of sugar
- 1-3 tsp of paprika
- 1 tsp of dried marjoram leaves
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 ½ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- ½ green bell pepper
- 1 can corn kernels
- ¾ cup of water
- 2 ½ cups of cooked pasta of choice
- ¼ cup parsley
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Directions
To begin, in a very large skillet, cast iron if you have it, cook ground beef, green pepper, and onion until the meat is browned and the green pepper and onion are tender. Stir to break up the meat. Drain well. Then place it in a slow cooker. If you want you can make the entire recipe in the large skillet, it cuts the time down to about 25 minutes.
Add all other ingredients except the parsley into the crock pot. Cover and cook on high until it is simmering; about 4 hours.
Remove the bay leaves and add cooked pasta.
Simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve. Add cheese and sour cream, if desired.
Now you have a goulash that tastes just as good on the second day as it does on the first.
