The small brush fire that broke out around 8am this morning in the Newhall pass has been put out. Firefighters reacted quickly as flames crept up to the Old Road at the 5 and 14 Freeways. Planes quickly dropped water and stopped the fire from spreading. Traffic on both Freeways are now moving along at the usual end-of-rush hour pace, as of 9:05am.
