Temperatures soared all over Southern California over the 3-day Labor Day weekend, and there is no relief from the heat in sight for the near future….
High temperatures well over the century mark, particularly for Santa Clarita residents, drove them to the beaches, which turned out to not be as much relief as usually expected.
Even Orange County beaches baked… Newport Beach reached 91 and it was 102 in Laguna Beach!
This hate wave is expected to continue, with highs today expected above 105, and even hotter tomorrow. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, and when required, to drink plenty of water. Stay in air contioned environments as much as possible, and limit use of electric devices (doing laundry, etc.)
Because of the heat and low humidity, Red Flag Warnings are once again in effect for the Santa Clarita Valley for extreme fire danger. Any suspicious activity (i.e. smoke, etc.) should be reported to authorities via 911 immediately.
