New Chapter in the Cemex Saga

There has been another setback in the City of Santa Clarita’s quest to drive out Mexican-based Cemex Corporation from mining in Soledad Canyon….

According to City Attorney Carl Newton, the case has been called to transfer to a federal court, since one of the defendants is the U.S. government.

The City has been fighting for years, and has escalated the defensive efforts against the mining project in Soledad Canyon because of the imminent threat of increased traffic, pollution, and health problems.
