Residents Plea "Slow Down"

Despite all the deterrents around the city, drivers continue to speed and create dangerous and potentially fatal conditions on Santa Clarita’s roads…

No matter how many traffic cameras, radar guns, and roadside signs there are, statistics show that accidents still happen as a result of high-speed drivers.

More than a dozen residents on Live Oak Springs Canyon Road in Sand Canyon gathered to discuss other ways that drivers can be convinced to adhere to the 25 mph speed limit in that location.

There have been five collisions on this stretch of Sand Canyon just in the last year.  This, along with the residents’ outcry, have even garnered attention and support of Mayor Bob Kellar.

Coincidentally, Wednesday evening’s fatal accident that killed 2 Canyon Country men occurred on a stretch of Sand Canyon Road nearby.
