Hart District Scores Up

Hart District schools showed an improvement (752) over last academic year (747) on the Academic Performance Index (API), the guage by which schools and districts compare with each other throughout California.

Despite the improvement, Hart District Curriculum Director Vicki Engbrecht said the schools still fell short of their goal of 800.

Statewide goals range from 200 to 1000, and the average score for schools in Los Angeles County is 676.  The statewide average was 683.

Overall, Hart District schools joined about one-third of California schools “missing the grade.”
