Santa Clarita Elks Lodge, Child And Family Center Host Family Fun Night

The Santa Clarita Elks Lodge #2379 provided food and donations for clients and families at the Child and Family Center’s “Family Fun Night” on Monday, July 29.

For the third year in a row, the members grilled and served BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs for 450 children and their families. Earlier in the day, they had provided a BBQ lunch for all the staff at the Child and Family Center.

The Elks also provided 300 backpacks complete with school supplies to elementary, middle and high school students

In addition to the food for the families, there was a DJ, photo booth and an animal show available, shaping up for hours of family fun.

In addition to this new end-of-summer party, for over two decades the Elks have “adopted” 35 families in need from the Child and Family Center—donating toys, gifts and food to help them through the holidays.

“Our deepest gratitude to the Elks for their ongoing generosity and support,” said Cheryl Jones, vice-president of marketing and community outreach for the center.

The children and families served at the center, together with the staff and volunteers, thank the Elks for their ongoing generosity and dedication to those in need throughout Santa Clarita.
