Santa Clarita residents who are planning to travel north this week should keep an eye out for closed ramps on the 5 freeway. 

Recently, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced that the I-5 off-ramps and on-ramps at the Tejon Pass Rest Area will be temporarily closed on specific days this week. 

The Northbound off- and on-ramps are scheduled for closure on Monday, 11/14, from 12:01 a.m. to noon, and from 7 p.m. on 11/14 to noon on Tuesday, 11/15.

The Southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps are scheduled for closure on Monday, 11/14, from 12:01 a.m. to 11 a.m, and from 7 p.m. on 11/14 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, 11/15.

The scheduled closure of the ramps is due to planned maintenance procedures. 

“During these closures, crews will place asphalt and move concrete barriers,” Caltrans officials said.
