Traffic Stalled In Santa Clarita After Big-Rig Crash On 14 Freeway

Traffic through Santa Clarita ground to a halt Wednesday morning as commuters tried to avoid a big-rig crash on the 14 Freeway that shut down one northbound and three southbound lanes and snarled freeway traffic for hours.

According to CHP incident reports, a big-rig truck travelling northbound on the 14 crashed through the center divider south of Golden Valley Road shortly before 5 a.m.

At least one person was injured in the crash, but California Highway Patrol investigators have not disclosed who the victim was.

City streets through Santa Clarita are backed up as commuters try to make their way south through the city while avoiding the stopped traffic on the 14.

A SigAlert was issued by the CHP Wednesday morning for an unknown duration as they investigate the crash.

No information about a potential cause of the crash was released as of 8 a.m. Wednesday.
