Caltrans has announced overnight lane closures on both the northbound and southbound sides of Interstate 5 (I-5) between Lake Hughes Road and two miles north of Templin Highway.
The closures will take place from Monday, July 28, through Friday, August 1, as part of an ongoing pavement rehabilitation project.
Drivers can expect gradual lane closures beginning each evening: one lane will close at 7 p.m., a second lane at 8 p.m., and a third lane at midnight.
All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
This work is part of a larger infrastructure improvement project that began in April 2022. The project includes replacing damaged concrete slabs, upgrading drainage and guardrail systems, stabilizing slopes through rock scaling and geogrid installation, and constructing a new retaining wall.
Drivers are encouraged to give themselves a little extra time, take it slow through the construction zone.
