Michael Dowler was surrounded by costumed kids on Halloween 2006 as the Valencia Town Center hosted trick or treating for children. Shops were asked to display a noticeable sign in their window if they were "open" for trick or treators, and the children went store to store. Between 4,000 and 5,000 children participated in the event. For boys, the most popular costumes were Spider Man and Captain Jack Sparrow. For girls it was a Princess. The KHTS Community Resource station was, for many children, the first stop!
