The 2019 KHTS Sacramento Road Trip kicked off Monday morning with a charter bus full of Santa Clarita community leaders, educators and students rolling out of the Newhall Metrolink Station.
The 2019 KHTS Sacramento Road Trip is in its 14th year and consists of over 100 Santa Clarita leaders representing a wide variety of the community.
“I find it hard to believe we have now embarked on our 14th annual KHTS Sacramento Road Trip,” said Carl Goldman, KHTS owner and organizer of the event.
While some of this year’s participants have elected to fly to Sacramento, many have chosen to take a charter bus together, a tradition of the trip that allows bus riders to meet one another and talk about issues in their areas of expertise ahead of the trip’s sessions.
“With over 110 community leaders joining us, we expect to make a significant impact since no other community advocates in this manner,” Goldman said. “Thanks to Senator Scott Wilk and his stellar staff in scheduling a wide array of powerful meetings with key legislators.”
During the drive up north, riders on the bus will also have the opportunity to sit down with KHTS Senior Staff Writers Michael Brown and Devon Miller to talk about why they make the long trek.
The interviews will be available on the KHTS Hometown Station website after the conclusion of the road trip.
