A reported street race in Valencia was stopped by California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers Friday night.
Friday night at around 9 p.m., CHP officials from the Newhall Area Office received information about street racers meeting in the industrial area near the 5 Freeway and Highway 126.
“Officers responded to the scene and immediately saw (an) illegal race in progress,” posted Newhall CHP. “As officers attempted to stop the two vehicles, a third vehicle suddenly crossed into an intersection.”
The red car pictured, was being drifted and circled at the same time, a maneuver commonly referred to as “donuts.”
Officers initiated a stop and the driver was arrested and his car was impounded, according to the social media post.

They actually arrested someone for doing doughnuts!?! Wow! We can’t keep real criminals in jail in California and the CHP is booking people for doing doughnuts. That’s embarrassing
They need to pay attention to Sloan Cyn from Lake Hugh all the way up to Castaic high school. This is over a quarter mile without any traffic lights or stop’s sign. Weekend night drag racing, doing donuts in front of the church on Tuesday nights to drifting and the average person can’t tell them to stop. It’s a matter of time before there is going to be a deadly accident. Please make this a priority and safe a life.
Thank goodness they finally paid attention. I have been saying that Newhall Ranch Road sounds like an episode of “Fast and Furious” every night at around 9-10pm. Do we not remember what happened to Paul Walker and where it happened exactly?
