A Canyon Country registered sex offender was arrested Thursday morning for being in violation of his parole.
“Crime Prevention Unit deputies had been in contact with the parole department because they were trying to locate him,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
After receiving a few leads of where he was living, Crime Prevention Unit deputies headed to the 20400 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.
Deputies found and arrested 26-year-old David Cordova, for being in violation of his parole, according to officials.
“They took him into custody without incident,” added Miller.
Cordova was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where he is currently being held without bail.
In 2011, Cordova was charged with lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old. He was released a year later, according to officials.
