One missionary from the Valencia stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently returned home from a mission in the Philippines, while a second missionary is preparing to leave for a mission in Japan, according to church officials.

Charlotte Steed is getting ready to serve an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan.
After giving her farewell talk on Sept. 18, Steed is expected to leave in early October for her service in the Japan Fukuoka Mission.

Smith returned home to Santa Clarita on Sept. 14 from the Philippines, Ilollo Mission.
Church officials noted he was welcomed home by his family, and will spend a very short time with them before returning to Provo, Utah to work and continue his education at Utah Valley University.
