Congresswoman Katie Hill Invites Santa Clarita Students To Participate In Congressional Art Competition

Congresswoman Katie Hill announced an art competition Tuesday for Santa Clarita high school students to have a chance to see their artwork hung in the halls of the Capitol Building.

The congressional art competition has been a nationwide contest since 1982 and over 650,000 high school artists have participated since then.

“I look forward to seeing the incredible submissions and sharing our winner’s work with the country when it hangs in the halls of the Capitol,” said Hill.

The congressional art competition is open to public, private, and homeschool high school students who reside in California’s 25th Congressional District.

The winning artist, and one parent or guardian, from each congressional district are set to be flown to Washington D.C. to see their art unveiled in the Capitol Building, according to officials.

Winners will be announced at a 3:30 p.m. on April 24, 2019 on KHTS Radio at a live event hosted by FastFrame Valencia, located at 24204 Valencia Blvd.

Representative Hill is expected to be in attendance, according to officials.
