Felon Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Pepper Spray, Public Drinking In Santa Clarita

A convicted felon was arrested in Santa Clarita when deputies found him in possession of pepper spray after detaining him for public drinking.

Alex Rincon was arrested and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody after being arrested on the 18300 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country for public drinking, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The deputies patrolling in the area were a part of a bicycle crime suppression operation led by the Crime Prevention Unit, according to Arriaga.

“During a search of the suspect, they recovered a pepper spray canister,” Arriaga said.

Due to the suspect being a convicted felon, it is illegal for him to have pepper spray, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Rincon, 35, a transient, was arrested for being a felon in possession of pepper spray, a felony, and public drinking, a misdemeanor, Arriaga added.
