“Because we are who we are in this community, we couldn’t be more delighted and thrilled to have a community partner like Galpin Subaru,” said Pam Ripling, Circle of Hope president and director of operations. “It means the world to us to have them as a community partner.”
The charity was created in 2004 to serve local cancer patients in the Santa Clarita Valley who are uninsured or underinsured and to provide educational, emotional and financial support to those who can’t afford to pay their bills, according to Ripling.
Fundraising through sales made at the local dealership, Galpin Subaru officials were able to award Circle of Hope with a check of $27,852.
“I’ve had a lot of family members involved… in fact, I’ve lost a family member to cancer, so I mean, Circle of Hope has just done a fantastic job,” said Galpin Subaru General Manager Dan Sterkel. “I hope this helps.”
The funds will go on to help support Circle of Hope officials take on more cancer patients in the next six to eight months and even go on to help pay for surgeries, prescriptions and more.
“I am completely overwhelmed, I’ll be totally honest with you in thinking–telling you that my hope was that we would get a third of this amount of money,” Ripling said. “And this is unprecedented, and I can’t thank you all enough.”
