An unidentified independent film studio recently leased space in Santa Clarita, joining over 25 other studios in the development of ‘Hollywood North’ in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Reality group CBRE announced Wednesday that an independent studio operator signed a new 166,359 square-foot lease at Rockefeller Crossing, an industrial complex in Valencia owned by LBA Realty, according to a statement by the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation.
The space, located at 27420 Avenue Scott, features 30-foot clear-height ceilings, easy highway access, dock-high doors, and sits in proximity to a variety of amenities, including retail and food options, according to officials.
“This independent studio is converting some of the existing industrial space in the area,” said Holley Schroder, CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley EDC. “We’re so excited to see the studio inventory grow along with our reputation as Hollywood North.”
The entertainment industry has been a primary focus for both the City of Santa Clarita and the local economic development team.
The Santa Clarita Valley now boasts well over 25 studios, making it one of the largest concentrations for the film and entertainment industry in Los Angeles County, according to Schroder.
“There’s been a lot of activity in the studio industry here in last several months, and a couple of different leases coming in,” said Schroder. “We’re planning a full inventory as conventions complete in the coming months.”
The Santa Clarita Valley is a hub for high-paying industry clusters such as advanced manufacturing, medical devices, aerospace and defense, information technology and digital media and entertainment.
The area is an established commercial market with more than 30 million square feet of industrial and office properties.
